Live by a major ski resort

No legitimate or resourceful ski bum would ever think of living anywhere other than by a major ski resort in the wintertime. This is absolutely essential to getting in a lot of time on the mountain. The closer the better. On any given day, the ski bum can walk out of his or her place and quickly be on a chairlift. On a powder day no energy is wasted doing snow removal. Proximity to a ski shuttle bus is ideal. Put your ski boots on and go. Many modern ski bums are fortunate enough to be able to ski to a chairlift. An occassional night camped out or in the car is worth it, if it means easy access to skiing.

Warning:
The below example is not approriate for a ski bum in good standing.
1. A ski bum can't live in the suburbs.
2. The image below of a family playing together indicates employment and responsibility. This leads to less and less time on the mountain.

Warning - Avoid this!!
