This topic was created so that Ski Bums could discuss the use of cell phones. Some argue that cellphones are a nuisance and that a real ski bum shows up if he feels like it and isn't reachable while on the mountain. Also, there are plenty of people on the mountain using cellphones for stupid stuff, like staying in touch with work or worse yet, to do chores after skiing. There are some practical uses of cellphones on the mountain for the ski bum. Say for example, you've just come to the end of an awesome out of bounds skiing experience and there isn't a ride in sight. Using your cellphone to call a pal for a ride back up is certainly a legitimate use. Some senior ski bums will insist that they'll always be able to find a ride.
